BioBalance Certified Organic Raw Cacao Powder contains a rich combination of antioxidants and essential minerals. Enzyme inhibitors in cacao support normal circulation of the ‘feel good’ neurotransmitters (serotonin, dopamine, anandamide, phenylethylamine) that are naturally abundant in the brain when we are feeling happy. Flavonoids and resveratrol, those important free radical scavengers, are higher than in green tea, grapes or berries and it’s one of the best food sources of magnesium. Because flavonoids are easily destroyed during processing, raw cacao powder is richer in these nutrients than processed chocolate. Raw, organic cacao is pure, unadulterated goodness, nourishing heart, body and mind!

Does adding hot water reduce the antioxidant content?

Cacao beans are fermented, sundried, and the nibs are separated from the shell. The nibs are roasted in special ovens at controlled temperatures before being pressed into liquor/paste from which the powder is separated.

Research has shown that heating cacao (as in adding hot water) helps release antioxidants, so it actually improves the antioxidant value to you.

Wonderful stuff! Mine was delivered last week so I made a self -Saucing choccy pudding and I swear it was the best one I have ever made – it turned out fluffier and more chocolaty. …can’t wait to bake with it again! Great to know it’s organic too. A huge pottle…it will last a while I think!

I have shopped around and think this is a really great product (a good size for all my raw recipes and a properly resealable container) and it is definitely good value when compared to the supermarkets. I did get one lot that seemed a bit gritty but that was over a year ago and I all the others have been great.

I swear my kids inhale this stuff. They have it every morning for breakfast with smoothies and we use it for baking and cooking in place of cocoa powder. It tastes amazing, and love the organic status too- well done

I love this product! Because it’s so rich in flavour, you hardly need the same as if you were using standard cocoa powder and it has a lovely malty taste. So far I’ve only used it for making chocolates and in hot drinks but I can’t wait to bake with it. Bonus that it is rich in antioxidants and certified organic!
